Show the children in your life that kindness and community can make the whole world feel like home!

Our World is a Family: Community can Change the World is an uplifting, beautifully illustrated picture book that explores the topic of human migration in a gentle, loving, and affirming way. It lightly touches on why people might leave their homes — from climate change to the search for safety — and inspires children to welcome new neighbours into their communities with open hearts. Perfect for young readers aged 4 and up, this 32-page hardcover is an ideal read-aloud for families, classrooms, and story times.

  • Timely and Important: Human migration is a growing global issue, and there are very few picture books that thoughtfully address how children can help resettled families feel welcome and loved in their new communities.
  • Warm and Accessible: The gentle, lyrical text handles a complex subject with sensitivity and care, making it easy for young children to understand and connect with.
  • Champions Diversity and Inclusion: A joyful celebration of human connection that reminds readers everywhere that we are all one big family — no matter where we come from.
  • Sparks Meaningful Conversations: An excellent springboard for parents, teachers, and caregivers to talk with children about empathy, belonging, and the power of community.

"Big social media and author appearances to kick off publicity, including features on NPR Radio and CNBC." — Publisher's Publicity Notes
