About the author / illustrator

Felicity Brooks grew up near London and wrote her first story aged four about a toy named Moley Bear. Since then she has been to university, worked as an actor, a lexicographer and a teacher of trainee pilots. Since her late twenties he has been a children's author, writing about everything from emotions to dinosaurs. When not at her desk, she can be spotted taking long walks in the Oxfordshire countryside, curled up in front of the fire with a word puzzle, or foraging for wild mushrooms in the woods.

Gareth Lucas is an illustrator and designer living in his hometown in Essex, with his beloved wife and five children. After studying at Brighton and Central Saint Martins he has worked on a variety of projects, but enjoys children’s book illustration the most. When he is not working he can be heard indulging his other love – the banjo!
