About the Author

Tom Cooke was a principal artist for Sesame Street children's books, and over the course of his career he illustrated well over 100 books for young readers. In 1994 he suffered a stroke that left him with the use of only his right hand — yet he continued to illustrate with the same warmth and skill that made his work so beloved. He passed away in 2014, leaving behind a remarkable legacy of joyful, colourful art that has delighted generations of children.
